BOTANILINE began as a passion project in Buffalo, New york

As a food scientist, our co-founder Dean O’Brien has always challenged himself to invent new ways to make products better – and more efficiently.

where it started

While having a traditional English lunch of bangers and mash with a colleague in Canada, Dean was challenged with the idea of creating a convenience style banger and mash – sausage with potato – for people on the go.

When Dean got to work in blending the potato in with the meat block, he discovered the potato was acting as a natural binder or peptide which eliminated the need for added salt and other chemical based ingredients typically used during processing. 

In addition, the finished product contained less saturated fat and calories and more vitamins and minerals, making a healthier product overall.

Dean, among others, realized they were onto something truly revolutionary. BOTANILINE was born and more food innovations are being created every day.
